and has a very nostalgic, almost magical ring to it for our generation.The crossing of a border within Europe is now merely a state of mind. Perhaps this is the most intriguing to me: the abscence of borders as a preview to infinity and the fear that accompanies this freedom. The idea that you can go and keep going is scary as well as tempting.
It's one of the most interessting paradoxes within man: we dream of a borderless world where we can go as we please, but we do this in our homes, behind our white picket fences.
